Walk A Mile in Your Co-Worker’s Shoes? Cultivate Empathy Practices to Advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace

Marc Paulo “MPG” (he/him) is a talent management professional at McKinsey and is based out of the Washington D.C. office. In his role, he coaches and mentors consultants, deploys them to internal and client teams/engagements, and supports their advancement in their professional endeavors inside and outside the firm. Additionally, he supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives as a facilitator and is an active leader in the affinity spaces in the DC office, including Asians at McKinsey (AAM), Hispanic & Latino Network (HLN), LGBTQ at McKinsey (GLAM), and more.

Prior to joining Mckinsey, MPG was at Bain & Co. as part of the Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Center of Excellence team (CoE) where he supported North America DEI strategy and managing the Latinx at Bain (LATBA) and Asians at Bain (AAB) affinity groups.

MPG spent 10 years in higher education, specifically at the University of Virginia where he served as the Associate Director for Diversity recruitment within the UVA Darden School of Business within their Full-time MBA program. This included serving historically excluded communities and LGBTQ+ MBA candidates.

Outside of work, Marc Paulo is an active mentor and board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Blue Ridge, and serves on the advisory board of the University of Virginia Queer Alumni Network and the DEI committee of the Virginia Film Festival. He enjoys traveling to new countries, eating Korean BBQ and Filipino food, karaoke, and watching Ru Paul’s Drag Race. He’s a huge Chelsea FC fan and roots for all UVA sports. Go Hoos!
